Value for money

By chance, we found ourselves outside this restaurant, hungry at about 8 PM on a Monday night. We wondered why the place was so empty. But menu and the prix fixe at 29 Euros for a three course meal looked right, so we went in. We were invited to choose our seats and selected a cozy corner, and found ourselves having a amazing meal. And we discovered that, this being Paris after all, that by the time we had finished our salads, my wife with a warm cheese supported by a mound or arugula and other greens, me with a mixed greens based again on wonderful arugula and a perfect dressing. Then the mains - shrimps in a dried tomato base, and a penne with seafood in a wonderfully flavoured sauce with hints of tarragon and mushroom. We slowed down, savoured the moment, and were too full to think of moving to the desserts, which I admit with regret. The menu was extensive and if this is any idea, we will go back to explore the other options. The waitress was very helpful and considerate, as we did out best to speak in French, she did better to help with a creditable English spoken with a lovely French accent. A wonderful beginning to our 5 days in Paris, where les cinqs jours font la paire as the time passes so quickly!
