Located very close to the Teatre L'Odeon, I have returned to this wonderful small traditional French bistro each time I visit Paris. The owner, a man of significant girth, initially presents a very gruff Gallic exterior, and sometimes makes you agonize as you consider your dining choices (written on a small blackboard) if your French isn't proficient. But the facade gives way to reveal a gentleman of warmth and merriment, who makes the visit unforgettable. And it is clear that the local clientele adore him. But it is the food that is really unforgettable. The traditional dishes (boeuf bourguignon, porc terrine, amazing small pickles...) are absolutely the best. You will want to return here often, perhaps even more than once during your visit to paris.
