La Era is a stunning, tradtional restaurant with traditional surroundings with a really homely feel to it. It is without a doubt worth a visit as you may not ever find another restaurant as unique, beautiful & peaceful anywhere else. Sangria's lethal, but tasty & the food is very traditional, and in my (& my family's opinion) absolutely fantastic - fresh & homemade from Canarian Recipes (apparently passed down from the owner's Grandmother). So if you are not a fan of Canarian cuisine it may not be for you although they do serve some amazing steaks as well. There are various rooms you can choose to sit in each decorated in superb fashion with vintage tooling on the whitewash walls & outside has some fantastic gardens that you can walk around (illuminated at night). The waiters do speak basic English although it would definitely be advantageous to speak some basic Spanish just to avoid any confusion when ordering. As of Aug. 2011 a taxi from Playa Blanca cost 20 euro's one way. This is the La Era in Yaiza - be aware that there may be another place with a similar name located elsewhere (our cab driver didn't know it existed in Yaiza & thought it was in another town)
